1. Who we are
Docurement Limited is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. Our registered office is Level 1, Devonshire House, One Mayfair Place, London W1J 8AJ, United Kingdom.
Information collected through this website is controlled from our London office and handled under UK data protection law. For anything relating to this notice or your personal information, contact enquiries@docurement.com or +44 (0)20 3059 7753.
2. What this notice covers
This notice applies to personal information we collect through docurement.com — including its Arabic pages at docurement.com/ar. It does not cover information we hold about you under a separate client engagement, which is governed by the terms of that engagement, and it does not cover other organisations' websites we link to.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Enquiry form. Your first name, last name, email address, company name, the service you are interested in, and the content of your message.
- Newsletter sign-up. Your email address, and the date and time you submitted it.
- Direct contact. Anything you choose to include if you email or telephone us using the details on this site.
Both forms include a hidden anti-spam field. It is not shown to you, it is not something you fill in, and its contents are discarded.
Information collected automatically
- Server and delivery logs. Our hosting provider records technical information such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request, in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
- Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are read. It is cookieless and does not identify you. See section 5.
We do not ask for, and do not want, special category information (such as health, religion or biometric data) through this website. Please do not include it in an enquiry message.
4. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| What | Why | Lawful basis (UK GDPR Article 6) |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiry form details | To answer your enquiry and, where relevant, discuss providing services to you | Steps taken at your request before entering a contract; and our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries |
| Email address for Docurement Weekly | To send you the weekly regulatory newsletter you asked for | Your consent |
| Server and delivery logs | To operate the site securely and diagnose faults | Our legitimate interests in keeping the site available and secure |
| Aggregate analytics | To understand which pages are useful and improve them | Our legitimate interests in measuring and improving the site. No cookies are set and no individual is identified |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered whether those interests are overridden by your rights, and you can object at any time (see section 8).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not set any cookies. It stores nothing on your device and reads nothing from it, so there is no cookie banner to accept or reject.
We measure traffic with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless. It records a page view and general information such as the referring page, country, browser and device type. It does not set an identifier, does not follow you between sites, and does not build a profile of you.
6. International transfers
Some of the service providers we use — including our hosting and analytics providers — are based outside the United Kingdom, principally in the United States. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place — such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. You can ask us for details of the safeguards that apply.
7. How long we keep it
| Enquiries that do not become engagements | 24 months from our last contact with you |
|---|---|
| Enquiries that become client engagements | Retained under our client engagement terms and the retention periods that apply to that work |
| Newsletter subscribers | Until you unsubscribe, or after 24 months with no engagement |
| Server and delivery logs | Held by Netlify, our hosting provider, and kept under Netlify’s own platform log retention rather than a period we set. Netlify documents log retention of up to 7 days, varying by plan. |
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- ask us to delete information, in certain circumstances;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, in certain circumstances;
- object to us using it where we rely on legitimate interests;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent — including for the newsletter. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these, email enquiries@docurement.com. We will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
9. Unsubscribing from Docurement Weekly
To stop receiving the newsletter, email enquiries@docurement.com with the word "unsubscribe", from the address you subscribed with. We will remove you and confirm once it is done.
We are moving the newsletter onto a dedicated email platform, after which every issue will carry a one-click unsubscribe link. Until then, the email address above is the way to unsubscribe, and we will act on any request promptly.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK supervisory authority:

We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Where a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will take reasonable steps to tell you.
